Learning To Skate

Group Skating Lessons for ages 3 – adult at Eau Claire’s Hobbs Ice Center

Our lessons are suitable for anyone interested in learning fundamentals of ice skating.  Learn to Skate students go on to enjoy recreational skating, figure skating, and hockey.

Our program uses the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills curriculum. This is a progressive curriculum in which skaters work their way through eight levels containing distinct skill sets.

Our youngest skaters enjoy the USFS “Snowplow Sam” curriculum, which introduces skating skills in a fun and manageable way for 3- and 4-year olds.

Our instructors have reached an advanced level of proficiency in figure skating and are registered instructors with U.S Figure Skating.

Our schedule includes two seven-week sessions in the fall and one in the winter, plus one two-week session in summer.  Fall and winter sessions meet on Sunday afternoons; the summer session meets for seven weekdays over a two-week period.  Each day’s lesson includes half an hour of instruction and a fifteen-minute “free skate” time.
